We offer a range of services and supply print-ready and ebook files for most online platforms.

Whether your concept is still rough, or you have completed illustrations already, we can help make your book a reality.
We work with many first-time authors and are here to help you navigate the stormy seas of self-publishing.

Editing

This is where a manuscript begins its journey through the publishing process. Every book needs a good edit before moving on to the next step.

Page Planning

Once your text is edited, the next step is planning the pages. Which text goes where? How many illustrations are required? How many pages will the book be? Many of these questions can be answered with page plans. This is not an essential step in the process, but it is one that I recommend because it makes the rest of the process much smoother, and the end product more finely honed.

Illustration

After page plans, the book heads to an illustrator who initially sketches characters and scenes for approval, and then begins the colouring process. Currently, Tamar Blaaw does all the illustration work for Heartstone House. She is often booked in advance, and there could be a waiting period of several weeks before she can start on your project. It's best to enquire in advance.

Book Design

This is the fun part, where I take the text and illustrations and create an awesome, amazing, stunning, spectacular book for you. We will go through several design ideas, and then several drafts as we fine-tune each page. When I'm done, I prepare print-ready and ebook files for whichever platform you are publishing with. My book design fee includes cover design.
